Massive Volatility Reported - Google Search Ranking Algorithm Update?

I am seeing some massive volatility being reported today after seeing a spike in chatter within the SEO community on Friday. The fact that the majority of these tools are quite hot suggests that there have been significant changes in the search result positions in the last few days.

This update looks like a weird one and no, Google has not confirmed any update is going on.

Master project management for in-house SEO teams and navigate the never-ending flow of SEO projects while supporting broader business goals. SEO-related tasks such as competitor analysis, topic research and technical maintenance. The organic functioning of a website might be affected by any changes made to it. Eliminating dead weight and intelligent redirections and link management are two very different things.

1. Fill out the gaps about the ‘what’

Best of SearchBot: Guide me through a technical SEO audit

I would advise concentrating on three main areas when developing an SEO technical audit:

1. Indexing: It is important to determine the number of pages on your website that search engines have indexed.

2. Robots.txt: It's crucial to check your robots.txt file to make sure that no pages you want crawled are being banned from being indexed by search engine crawlers. You may find the robots.txt file at domain.com/robots.txt.

3. Preferred domain: You must make sure that every URL variation for your website, such as https://domain.com/ and https://www.domain.com/, points to the same, preferred version via a 301 redirect. This reduces confusion and unifies the weight of the incoming links into a single point.
