  • 3) Clarification: Google Search Supports Images Referenced From src Attribute.

Google is intensifying its battle against site reputation abuse spam, combining manual interventions with algorithmic measures. Additionally, a security update to Google Search Console enhances the management of ownership tokens, streamlining webmaster control. Furthermore, Google Search now clarifies its support for images referenced from the src attribute, providing clearer guidance for web developers.

Google Will Fight Site Reputation Abuse Spam Both With Manual Actions & Algorithms

Google's recent spam algorithm upgrade also brought new spam policies, notably the forthcoming site reputation abuse policy, which will not take effect until May 2024. Google has indicated that it will combat site reputation misuse spam through both manual measures (people) and algorithms (machines). Truth is, Google fights search spam a lot using both methods - algorithms and humans. So it should not come as a shock that Google will also fight the new site reputation abuse spam the same way.

Google Search Console security update improves management of ownership tokens

Google is expanding Search Console's user and permission management capabilities, including the ability to manage unused ownership tokens. Tokens are codes used to verify website ownership in Search Console, Merchant Centre, and other Google products. We've seen instances where these were mistakenly left behind after the owners moved on. The most recent updates will increase accuracy and represent the current situation of unused ownership tokens.

Clarification: Google Search Supports Images Referenced From src Attribute

Google has said in its image search assistance literature that images are exclusively taken from the src property of img tags in Google Search. This is not new, but Google chose to update their documentation in response to certain concerns regarding the matter.
