Google Confirms: High-Quality Content Is Crawled More Often

Google's Search Relations team reveals that high-quality, user-centric content is the key to increasing crawl demand and debunking crawl budget myths.

  • There is no crawl budget to which websites have to stick.
  • Google ranks crawling according to the quality of the content.
  • For maximum crawling, it is best to concentrate on creating high-quality, user-focused content.

The idea of a "crawl budget," which refers to the daily limit on the number of sites search engines can crawl, has long been discussed by SEO experts. The assumption is that sites must stay within this allotted budget to get pages indexed.

However, in a recent podcast, Google’s Search Relations team debunks misconceptions about crawl budgets and explains how Google prioritizes crawling.

John Mueller's Site Dropped From Google Search

The fact that John Mueller's website is no longer visible in Google search results is a topic of discussion among SEO experts. It appears to have been fully deleted and deindexed from Google. The reason behind this is the question. Given that John Mueller is one of the most well-known Google Search spokespersons online, SEOs may be wondering why his highly geeky website, johnmu.com, does not appear in the search results.

Google Now Says Core Web Vitals Used In Ranking Systems

Google updated their documentation to acknowledge that CWV is used in their ranking systems but stops short of saying they're ranking factors

Google clarified in an update to their Page Experience Documentation that their ranking systems employ Core Web Vitals. The interesting thing about the shift is that Google still doesn't claim that Core Web Vitals affect rankings.

Google Almost Says CWV Is A Ranking Factor, Page Experience In Search Results documentation regarding CWV about ranking factors, as well as extensive explanations without actually mentioning Core Web Vitals as a ranking factor, Google reversed course and updated their documentation to almost explicitly state that Core Web Vitals are a ranking factor.
